I wanted to include olives, but I think they're a fruit. I effing hate olives.

Just to show you that I'm balanced:
Top ten least disgusting vegetables!*

3. broccoli
4. carrots
5. peas (in the pod)
6. onions
7. peppers
8. tomatoes (tomatoes are also a vegetable for this exercise)
9. celery
10. cucumbers
*It was actually easier to come up with this list than the most disgusting list.

Top ten soundtrack albums!

10. The Story
Honorable mentions: Fall Apart Again, Late Morning Lullaby, Pride and Joy, Have You Ever

I find it entirely charming how Brandi used to introduce "My Song" by saying, "Now we're gonna go ahead and bring the rock." Adorable.

Last night, I watched 10 Things I Hate About You, because dead Heath Ledger bummed me out, and he's funny in this one. So is Allison Janney. Whatever happened to Larisa Oleynik? I miss you, Alex Mack. I can't decide if I think Julia Stiles is pretty. Gabrielle Union should not play a ditz--that's beneath her. Joey Gordon-Levitt (or, probably Joseph Gordon-Levitt, I'm sure he prefers now) will always be the kid from Angels in the Outfield.

Haha, it appears as though prior to this week you had never toyed with the idea of creating a list. Now you have caught the bug. I apologize, although it is fun to read them. It's one of the reasons I loved "High Fidelity," and John Cusack's top-ten list obsession.

I have trouble with your best soundtrack list. I don't know what this Legally Blonde musical is, but the idea of it is rather frightening... despite the adorableness of the original movie... is it really musical worthy? I'll have to check that out. When I saw "Juno" on there, I almost had to stop reading. But, I persevered and saw Brokeback Mountain which is a terrific musical score. I play some of those songs on the guitar all the time. In fact, it is one of those musical cues that is kind of always rattling around in my brain and will surface several times randomly throughout the course of a day. It is doing it right now too, obviously.

Oh, and I totally wanted to rent "Brokeback Mountain" last night to remember how great Heath was in that film. But, I didn't want to be THAT person who went and rented a movie the same night the main actor died. I would have made fun of that person when I worked at a rental store. So, I watched Eternal Sunshine instead. Which, you should totally see if you haven't. I had forgotten how gorgeous Kate Winslet is in that movie. *sigh*

I also love your mention of "The Secret World of Alex Mack," because I was considering bringing up the topic of old Nickelodeon (SNICK!) shows on the forum. I have been thinking about all the good ole shows like Hey Dude and Salute your Shorts recently. So nostalgic.

Oh, and Julia Stiles is not pretty. Case closed. (although she's not ugly either).

Okay, I thought the exact same thing when I heard they had made Legally Blonde, of all things, into a musical, but I think it's brilliant. But since you don't usually like musicals, maybe you will not share my opinion.

Whatever, you hate Juno, I get it. You are such a snob. If this were real life, I'd probably be sticking my tongue out at you right now, because I am exactly that mature.

I have a serious aversion to anything with Jim Carrey in it, so I have to say I've not seen Eternal Sunshine, and I found out just now that Kirsten Dunst is in it, and I inexplicably loathe her. That's two strikes against it--I'm not saying I wouldn't enjoy it in spite of those things, but it's not on the top of my to watch pile.

I'd be all about a forum discussion of classic Nick shows. I totally have the first two season of The Adventures of Pete & Pete on DVD. Nickelodeon blows now.

Ah! I am a snob. That's fantastic. I shall refrain from here on out on the bashing of the Juno. *unless it wins Oscars, in which case this promise is null and void

So. Even though I assume that you watching Eternal Sunshine is precisely as likely as me reading both The Golden Compass and Cider House Rules... I'm still going to attempt to sell you on the film by saying that Jim Carrey is not like the Jim Carrey you are used to seeing. He is the opposite of every other character he's ever played. Great work, I promise. Kirsten Dunst, is Kirsten Dunst. But, I don't hate her, so I don't know how she comes off in this film. It's a really interesting movie though. I love how inventive it is. And for some reason the whole concept of it is completely and utterly heart-breaking to me.

Whatever, I know that was all in vain. But, I had to say it.

I also want to clear the air about my opinion of musicals. I have two movie musicals in my top ten films of all times. I don't hate them! They just have to be really good or unique in some way in order to catch my interest. I even liked the movie version of Phantom of the Opera AND own the soundtrack. Most people hated it, but I love that shit.

Are you still sticking your tongue out at me?

No, the tongue-sticking-out was a temporary condition, and maybe you're not a snob. Maybe. Also, I do apologize for assuming you were not a musicals fan. If you did enjoy the movie, then it's possible you might like the musical. I don't know. I like a lot of things that aren't good--I can't tell if Legally Blonde is actually good or just ridiculous and awesome, like Spice World.

It is easier to watch a movie than to read a book (usually), so...if I ever decide to rent a movie again, I'll consider Eternal Sunshine. Just for you.
